Chance encounters with celebrities can be rare, especially in the city of Boston, which has a much smaller share of celebrities when compared with megacities like New York or Los Angeles. Here’s the story of how Quibbl Politics Editor Andrew P. Kingsbury turned a chance encounter into an exclusive interview.

While sitting on a barstool watching and live tweeting the World Cup at a brewery bar in Boston’s Seaport District, Quibbl Politics Editor Andrew P. Kingsbury sipped a tasty sangria beer. As he looked up at the TV to see the score of the Serbia-Switzerland match, he recognized a familiar face but, who was she?
Andrew did a double-take and then a triple-take as she walked past him. “Where do I know her from?” he asked himself — then — it hit him!
“That’s Stormy Daniels,” he eurekaed to himself — adult film star, former Trump mistress, and, thusly, the subject of countless quibbls and months of news coverage!
He got up from his barstool to ask her for a selfie to boast to his fellow news junkies at Quibbl — then, right as he attempted to grab her attention, a hand grabbed his belt from the rear and yanked him backwards, away from Ms. Daniels. The hand belonged to Ms. Daniel’s bodyguard, who ordered Mr. Kingsbury not to approach her.
“I was just trying to get a selfie…” a shocked Mr. Kingsbury cried out. The 6-foot 6-inchtall bodyguard apologized for having to yank him, and said that he was just doing his job.
After some persistent pleading, and explaining what his role at Quibbl, Ms. Daniels sympathetically told her bodyguards, “just let him take a selfie” and to back off.
While a member of Stormy’s entourage used Mr. Kingsbury’s phone to take some pictures, Kingsbury told Stormy about Quibbl and that she had been featured in some quibbls regarding her relationship to President Trump and Michael Cohen.
Here’s one of the quibbls:
“News recently came to light that President Donald Trump had indeed reimbursed a $130,000 payment by his former lawyer Michael Cohen to adult film star Stormy Daniels, despite previously denying any knowledge of the payment. Cohen reportedly created a private LLC to pay Daniels just weeks before the 2016 election to cover up a July 2006 encounter with Trump. President Trump still denies having an affair with Daniels. Will more hush money payments to Stormy Daniels come to light by the end of August?”
Trump lawyer Michael Cohen is under criminal investigation by the U.S. attorney’s office for his personal financial dealings, including hush money payments on Trump’s behalf to former porn star Stormy Daniels for an alleged affair. Though he has not yet met with federal prosecutors, sources close to Cohen have indicated that he is willing to cooperate to decrease pressure on himself and his family. Trump has distanced himself from Cohen, with CBS News reporting that Cohen believes Trump to be turning against him.
Ms. Daniels was very kind and polite during their brief interaction. She told Mr. Kingsbury that she had not accepted any hush money payments — just the one $130,000 payment, which is keeping to pressure on President Trump and Michael Cohen.
She added that she will not accept any more payments.
