Drudge Report proprietor Matt Drudge called for a potential interview of President Trump by special counsel Robert Mueller to be televised live. While such a broadcast might be a pipe dream, the potential meeting between the two as part of Mueller’s Russia investigation has been drawing increased attention in the media in recent weeks. Will it happen?
Russia Investigations all the way down
Independent of Mueller, both houses of Congress are continuing investigations into Russian involvement in the 2016 election, and reports indicate that both major political parties are frustrated with their progress. Republicans are accusing Democrats of extending these investigations for political reasons, and Democrats are accusing Republicans of rushing or refusing to interview certain witnesses for political reasons. There are currently ongoing investigations in the House & Senate Intelligence Committees, as well as the Senate Judiciary Committee. With growing calls to wrap them up, will any of these investigations end before 2018?
Health care compromise?
A bipartisan health-care bill drafted by Senators Lamar Alexander (R-Tennessee) and Patty Murray (D-Washington) seems to be slowly gaining approval in the Senate. The bill aims to fix some of the shortcomings of the Affordable Care Act (AKA “Obamacare”), in part by stabilizing the Obamacare insurance markets. Will the Alexander-Murray bill be brought up for a vote by the end of October?
