On Sept. 26th, candidate for Jeff Sessions’ Senate seat won the Alabama GOP primary, beating incumbent Senator Luther Strange. His next hurdle is to beat the Democratic candidate Doug Jones. Will Roy Moore win the Senate seat? What do you think?

At the Indiana State Fairgrounds on September 27th, President Trump announced the major principles of a long-awaited tax reform plan that Republicans will attempt to pass through Congress. The party’s tax reform effort comes on the heels of multiple failures to fulfill campaign promises to repeal and replace Obamacare. Will the GOP be able to pass tax reform by the end of the year, as House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) immediately indicated was the target? Quibbl about it here.

Betting on Republicans to move things through Congress hasn’t been a winning Quibbl strategy

In the aftermath of the GOP failure to bring the Graham-Cassidy plan to a vote, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) predicted that President Trump would soon take executive action to allow individuals to join health care associations in order to buy insurance across state lines. “I think there’s going to be big news from the White House in the next week or two, something they can do on their own,” Paul said. “This is something I’ve been advocating for six months.” Will his prediction happen?
